The Banff National Park in Canada is home to this spectacular canyon, with an elevation of 2.5 kilometres. Located where Johnston Creek nears the Bow River by the Rocky Mountains, the water approaches and flows through Johnston Canyon. One almost travels back in time when faced with the result of thousands of years of natural erosion to the limestone rock; naturally formed waterfalls, tunnels, and pools. As expected, this scenery is a widely visited location for its beauty, and attracts hikers and ice climbers during the winter when the waterfalls freeze over, creating a challenging climbing experience.
